Daddy's Birthday

Necon and Tasha turned 26 on Thursday.

I thought the "I love Daddy" shirt was appropriate. She is showing off her big tummy...

and also her lovely double chin and HUGE cheeks...
Have you ever seen a more proud Daddy?

Playtime!!

Lydia is getting to be very playful with all of her toys! Here are some pictures of her enjoying a few of her favorites!

Several weeks ago she "found" the butterflies on her swing!

She also loves to talk to her bear friends that live in her bassinette!

My Uncle Chuck's parents, Charles and Bonnie, gave us a giftcard we used to buy her this super cute play mat. She absolutely LOVES it. The monkey is her favorite, but she will talk to the elephant as well. We have been trying to get her to reach up for the toys, but that has only happened on accident so far. There is also a mirror we put her on her tummy to look at. She has been known to push up on her tummy, but it doesn't happen every time.

These pictures are from Monday, 10/15 when she was 7 weeks old. I was folding clothes and I looked over and Lydia was pushed up on her belly!! It is so much fun watching her develop...pardon the baby cleavage in the first two pictures! She is definitely getting to be quite the chunky baby! That is from her daddy for sure...

She only held herself up for about 15 seconds and then got super tired...

So I put her in her Bumbo, but she wasn't really sure about it.
She cried soon after this picture was taken

First Shots

Today, Necon and I took Lydia to the doctor for her first set of shots. She got three shots and an oral immunization. The oral one was for rotavirus. The first shot was for pneumococcal stuff like pneumonia and meningitis. The second was Hib and the last one was the PediaRx. It is for polio, Hep B, Diptheria, tetanus and pertussis. We were really nervous that we wouldn't handle it very well, but she did so great!! We were so proud of her. We came home and gave her some Tylenol. She has been fussy while she is awake (which is WAY out of her normal), but I have kept her asleep most of the day. Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow. I will say that the nurse was wonderful and the shots were over super fast.

Necon was lucky enough to be off work so he could go with us.
The cute little baby has no idea what we are about to do to her...
Still cute AND unsuspecting...
OUCH!!
Thankfully she stopped crying right away!

Adventures in Diapers

Necon has been an absolutely WONDERFUL daddy. I'm not too surprised really, but you have to understand that before our sweet baby was born, he had never held/changed/fed/touched a baby. He has done great with all of it. This week he actually started volunteering to change the diapers. This is especially amazing considering this past week has started Lydia's Big Nastys as we like to call them. She is no longer having multiple poopy diapers a day, but just one big monsterous one that usually ruins her clothes and whatever she happens to be sitting in or laying on. For your viewing pleasure...here is another story by photo! It is pretty hilarious...

Hmmm...there is that rumbling in my tummy again

Here it comes...

Doing the doo

Yea Daddy!!

Just in case you couldn't REALLY see how much Necon is enjoying this experience

Dosen't seem to be bothering Lydia any! And just in case you think she has a lazy eye, she is trying to focus on the strap to the camera case. My sister Alicia has a lazy eye that shows up late at night when she gets really tired, and she is extremely fearful that she has passed this along to the baby. I had to throw in the explanation just in case she is looking at the blog!

This one is just a freebie of a cute kiddo!

She was totally absorbing his disgust at the yucky diaper.
He was not feeling the love and neither did she!!

They did make up just moments later!

All Smiles

We are quickly discovering what an incredibly happy baby we have! She LOVES to smile. It is hard to take pictures of her smiling because she thinks the camera is wierd, so if she actually catches you trying to take her picture while smiling she stops.

This is how I found her when she woke up from her nap...notice the extra large feet
Here is the ever popuar tongue smile
If you look super close you can see her dimples...
these are from Aunt Susan

Facelift

Let me know what you all think of the new blog look. I kinda think I absolutely hate it, but I can't tell for sure. Necon says he likes it, but I think he is just ready to go to bed and doesn't want to have to pretend he is interested anymore!!

I'm It

Okay, since I have been "tagged" about 583 times, I guess I will play.

1. Who is my man? Necon Andrew Warrior

2. How long have you been together? This past Monday was 8 years. December will be 3 years married...

3. How long did you date? just over 5 years (that's what happens when you start dating at 15!!)

4. How old is your man? 26 in two weeks

5. Who eats more? How embarrassing...me

6. Who said I love you first? Necon...I actually thought he was breaking up with me and at the end of his little speech he said "I love you." I was shocked and super happy!

7. Who is taller? It's a close one, but Necon for sure

8. Who sings better? The correct answer is ABSOLUTELY me, but Necon would tell you it is him. The truth is he is awful...he thinks he is Mariah Carey!

9. Who is smarter? I am the "book smart" one, but when it comes to ANYTHING else it is for sure Necon

10. Who has the worse temper? I know this is going to shock most of you, but me...

11. Who does the laundry? Necon. I am ashamed to say I have no idea how to wash clothes

12. Who takes out the garbage? Major point of contention here. Necon takes out the garbage which I deeply appreciate. However, he doesn't think this job includes putting new trash bags in all the trash cans, so then (depending on what kind of mood I am in) I either go around putting the new trash bags in or throw trash in the bare trash cans and make him deal with the mess.

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Is it the right side of the bed when you are in bed or when you are facing the bed. Right and left has never made much sense to me, but I am going to say me??

14. Who pays the bills? Necon says since I spend all the money I have to deal with the mess...

15. Who is better on the computer? tie

16. Who mows the lawn? Either my sister Alicia (who frequently cleans the kitchen as well) or my cousin Nathan! Hahaha

17. Who cooks dinner? like most everyone else...I cook and Necon grills. (It is a man's job you know...)

18. Who drives? Necon unless we are in a hurry...then it's definitely me. He refuses to speed!

19. Who pays for dinner? Necon, but figuring out the tip is a joint effort because Necon likes to make the total come out to a round dollar amount

20. Who is the most stubborn? Again, big shocker, but I could probably win an award at being stubborn. I am getting better I think...

21. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? It used to NEVER be me, but lately I have no problem with this and Necon is turning into me. He is honestly almost NEVER wrong though.

22. Whose parents do you see the most? We are super blessed because we get to see both of our parents all the time!

23. Who kissed who first? Necon...I was so suprised I didn't even realize it until it was over!

24. Who asked who out first? Since we started dating in high school, neither one of us actually asked the other one out. We just started walking around to class together and hanging out after ball games. He did ask me to the fair, which we consider our first date and repeat every year. He has often remarked that he should have taken me to the dollar movie for our first date, because it would be much cheaper to repeat than the fair.

25. Who proposed? Necon

26. Who is more sensitive? I cry more, but I think Necon may be more sensitive deep down

27. Who has more siblings? We both have two. I have two younger sisters and Necon has a twin sister and an older brother.

28. Who has more friends? Probably a tie...we are both pretty awesome

29. Who wears the pants in the family? I try really hard to let him, and I think I am getting better. He likes to wear pants, but sometimes I have a hard time giving them up...

So...I did it and don't want to be tagged anymore! I will not be tagging anyone else...

A Lesson in Eating

Here is a story by picture of Lydia's feeding routine:

Loosely translated..."I'm STARVING!!!"

Mommy has no problem giving her everything she asks for!!

Since most of you have never fed her...it is probably going to take you longer to read this than it took her to drink her bottle. Seriously, sometimes she chokes really hard because she would rather keep eating than stop to take a breath...it would be hilarious if it weren't super scary!!

Time to burp...she usually gets the burp out before you have time to sit her up and slap her on the back. Again, this is most likely due to her frantic hurry to begin eating again!
Mmmmm....that was SOOOO yummy!!

Okay, Okay...you can eat some more
Going, going...
Gone!
Most feedings used to end with her asleep, butnow she is starting to stay awake more! The hour right after she gets her belly full is her most playful time and we are so enjoying her interacting with us!! What an amazing blessing God has given us...

Sleeping Beauty

Whenever people ask about how the baby is doing, I try to keep my fingers crossed that no one asks how she is sleeping. Lydia has slept through the night just about every night since she was about 10 days old. For the last 5 nights in a row, I havent even had to roll over and rock the bassinette or put her pacifier back in her mouth and pat her bottom. She has just slept like a rock every night! When we divulge this information to other parents, we often are treated as if we are not being inducted into parenthood in the proper way. I am not complaining in the least, and I am sure that we are going to get twice our share with the next baby!! These are my favorite of her recent sleeping pictures...

Lydia sleeping in her bassinette...which she absolutely loves!!
I finally gave in and let her sleep on her tummy...

Lydia and Ruth

My...what long fingers you have!!

Her favorite place to sleep...with her daddy!!

Faces by Lydia

Our laptop power cord hasn't been working well for a few weeks and it finally bit the dust. So we have been truly powerless to blog as of late. We have not, however, stopped taking pictures of Lydia (it is Necon's favorite thing to do), so we have a ton to share with you all. These are some of my favorites of the different faces she is learning to make!

"Seriously Mom???"

I have no idea what this face is...

"If you don't stop making that light in my face I WILL take the camera..."

"You are SOOOO boring!!!"

This is Lydia doing her newest trick...TALKING!! This is the ever popular...oooohhh!

These next pictures are of Lydia looking at her friends that live on our ceiling. I am pretty sure they can fly because she will stare at them and then all the sudden her head goes from side to side like she is watching them fly around the room. I am guessing they are angels (I have to think that because otherwise I would be TOTALLY freaked out!!) She also likes to talk to them AND smile at them ALL day long EVERY day...

This is her "warning" face. She is making seemingly sweet cooing noises, but to the trained ear she is really saying "you had better pick me up/feed me/change my diaper or else..."

"I am the most beautiful baby in the world"

"Yes, I can stand up on the bed...you have a problem with that??"

Just in case anyone was wondering where her adorable face came from...
