Easter

Easter has always been a big holiday in my family. When I was little and we still lived in Oklahoma City with all our cousins, we had a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt at Mama Jo and Papa's (my mom's parents). Of course, the big deal was who would find the Golden Egg. My patented strategy was to follow my cousin Ross, who always had the best ideas as to where the egg was, but he never had the patience to look hard enough. When he had given up, I would continue to search harder! If we still lived in OKC, I would still be hunting, but the rule at mom's house is if you are married you are too old to hunt. Alicia says this is why she isn't married...just kidding Leesh!! We didn't get up early enough on Easter Morning to do Lydia's Easter Basket at our house, so the Easter Bunny took it to Grandpa and Annie's after church! We had a great time hunting eggs and eating dinner! Then we went to Necon's family's annual Easter Picnic, where we won the Easter Egg toss (complete with RAW eggs!!)

Lydia in her very 1st Easter Dress

So, I was thinking the big bow on her head was a little much since she had a big bow on her dress...
but what am I supposed to do when she is still COMPLETELY bald??

Super curious about the Easter Basket...
I can't believe I got a picture taken before she dumped it all out!!

Wonder who snuck this into the Easter Basket??

Since Lydia's eggs were spread out all over the floor, she had a blast crawling around and picking them all up!!

Didn't take her long to get distracted...

Noticing a theme?? Chewing on things is her favorite thing to do!

The obligatory family pic...the reason Charlie looks so happy is because he found the GOLDEN EGG!!
Lydia turned 7 months old on Monday. She is growing so fast...it seems like everyday she does something new. Here are a few of the things I want to remember from this stage:
*Crawling is her favorite thing to do
*When her paci is on the floor, she crawls over to it as fast as she can and instead of picking it up with her hand she nose dives and sucks it up with her mouth like a vaccum. It is seriously one of the funniest things I have ever seen!
*She is pulling up on everything and she tries to keep climbing up whatever she has pulled up to. If there is nothing for her to put her foot on, she will just stand there with one leg hiked up in the air...
*She has been saying dada for a while now, but on Sunday morning while we were at church I took her paci out of her mouth and she looked right at me and said mama...of course I cried. I still don't think she knows what she is saying, but we like to pretend!
*She started waving at us yesterday when we are kinda far away from her...it is not this sweet little hand wave though. She violently flaps her entire arm in the air up and down as fast as she can.
*When she is ready to go to sleep she will rub her eyes with her fists and then look at me as pitifully as possible.
*My favorite time to play with her is when she first wakes up because she will look at me with this HUGE smile and the bury her face in my chest like she suddenly got super embarrassed!
*She loves to play peek-a-boo and she laughs REALLY hard when you say BOO
*Eating is one of her favorite things to do! (Wonder where she got that...) If you don't give her the next bite fast enough she will look at you with her mouth open as wide as she possibly can; so wide that sometimes her head shakes just a little
*If she wants your attention and can't get it, she will stretch her head around until it is right in front of your face and then laugh
*She can "walk" all the way around her Leap Frog music table while she is holding on. I don't even think she knows she is doing it
*She gets really offended when we eat in front of her
*She still LOVES taking showers and HATES the bathtub!!
*She drools more than any baby I have ever seen...especially any baby who is STILL toothless
And I guess I shouldn't leave the new baby out...at work on Tuesday we got to hear the heart beat for the first time with the small doppler, not the ultrasound. The baby must be getting bigger!! In the beginning I was so sure we had our little Levi on the way, but I am kinda starting to have mixed feelings about it. Now that we have hit 14 weeks, we will start looking with the big ultrasound at work!

Snow Day

We woke up this morning to a beautiful snow!

Technically Lydia's first snow was at Grandma Warrior's in December, but by the time we were ready to get out in it, all the snow had melted. We were so excited this morning to get her suited up. Thanks to the clothes from Claire Ballard, we had plenty of super warm stuff to chose from. Our first attempt outside only lasted about 48 seconds. Lydia had so many clothes on she couldn't even sit up...
This quickly turned into...

This...

Needless to say Lydia wasn't enjoying herself very much, so we called in some reinforcements!

Lydia's first snowman...built by Aunt Becca and Annie (or maybe GiGi...jury still out!)
Annie's attempt to give Lydia some hot chocolate...
unfortunately all she got on the paci was marsmallows!!

Then Josiah and Aunt Tasha came over for a visit...
Rebecca and I make a gingerbread house every Christmas. This year I thought it would be fun to do a tree instead. We still hadn't gotten around to it, so Rebecca brought it over today! Its quite beautiful huh??
