Playing outside
Necon has taught her how to "wipe her own face"
She thinks that is SUPER funny!!
We had dinner with Will, Alisa and Liam. This was the first time Lydia had really been around another baby close to her size. It was fun to watch them playing side by side!! So cute.
We still couldn't believe we have babies!!
Just so no one would think she loves EVERYTHING...I thought I would give a short example of something she HATES...naptime. She has been the best sleeper since she was born...all night and two really good naps during the day. All the sudden she wanted to boycot naptime, or at least modify it to mean "sleeping on mommy's tummy." So, we have been laying her down and leaving her in the crib for the entire hour and a half whether she was sleeping or screaming. In the beginning I didn't think she was going to learn, but I am proud to announce she slept for just over an hour of both naps!! HUGE improvement. Here are some shots of her splotchy, I've been screaming for an hour and a half face when I finally went in to get her...Back to things she LOVES:
exploring the house!! She will crawl as fast as she can around the house to find places she hasn't been before. If she hears you coming, she crawls faster!!
Waving as casually as possible...
Being silly with Daddy when he gets home from work. The funny thing is she left her pants on her head for hours...all the way until it was time to take showers before bed!!
She also wanted to show you her favorite toys! We got her this pull toy to encourage some walking movements. She is still really hesitant and cautious...
She LOVES her music table. She walks all around it and tries to sing the ABCs while they play!!
And her newest trick...STANDING! We have to distract her by putting something in her hands and as soon as she realizes she is standing up, she sits down asap!! We are working on it though!!
She still has no teeth and no hair, though we are getting closer. Her two bottom teeth are trying their hardest not to pop out and the hair is finally starting to come in. The best part is...it's gonna be dark! Exactly what we hoped for!! She weighs 22 pounds (I know...HUGE) and she is somewhere around 27 1/2 inches (she doesn't really cooperate for me to measure her!) She says dada, mama (MOM if she means me), and I think she is starting to say baba for bottle. She can mimick almost any basic sound we make. She loves to play with the light switch, still picks up things with her mouth (no hands!!), takes showers with us, sucks on her toes when she is in her carseat, and ALWAYS lays with her legs crossed!! She is starting to be silly and make faces at us and pretend she is ignoring us. This is really really funny to her of course!! We could never have imagined the unreal joy she would bring to our home...Also, we had an ultrasound at 17 weeks that started out looking like we were having another girl, but by the end they were saying boy. I know its a boy, but I can't wait till next week for our big ultrasound for a no confusion answer!!
